Spamming Facebook? No way!

If there is a will there is a way.
I was doing my morning reading online and ran across an interesting article: “How To Spam Facebook Like A Pro: An Insider’s Confession.”
It was a very detailed tome confessing every like nook and crannie of how this marketing professional made millions of dollars with simple little developments like games and quizzes. The creation of these games and quizzes represent a gold mine for Facebook developers. And it only costs you a little bit of time, no money involved. The ROI is phenomenal!
Its a well known fact that when people are online, they like to engage, be entertained and get freebies. The creation of a game or quiz does just that. It engages them because it is interactive, it keeps your visitor entertained and many times its free or cost just pennies. Who can resist?
Recent demographic information on Facebook users show a marked increase in the 35-54 year old age group; and that the average user income level is $75-$100k. Perfect income levels to target quizzes and games. Not necessarily the ringtone crowd, however, I see many people playing YoVille and Mafia Wars.
If you’re looking for a method to market within Facebook, this just may be the way to go.
What do you think? Is it ethical? Would you do it?

I have not engaged myself in Facebook maybe before but it just a short while and I removed my profile on there for personal reasons. Anyway, spamming has been been illegal and is never a good idea. In all social networks, spam is not welcome.
My email alone hates spam.

Yes, however, the writer of the article sounded like a serial killer in prison sharing all his secrets. A good read if nothing else.
This is really one of the great post about the spamming of face book, it is very informative and very interesting.
Keep this sharing continue in future.
@ANSH: Yes I intend to keep sharing. I thought the spamming issue was unethical to do. However, obviously some other people don’t feel that way.
Whether you like me or not, the larger issue is what we shall do to create a good user experience that is above the legal standards. Just because something is legal, meaning there’s fine print somewhere, doesn’t mean it’s ethical or that a 15 year old girl will understand.
And making money on spam (or whatever word you want to call it)– is not so easy anymore. There are a lot of folks in the game now with less morals than me.

Absolutely Dennis. No one here ‘dislikes’ you, sorry about the serial killer reference…I was just trying to paint a visual. I think that what you did was ingenious. I admire not so much as what you did, but how you did it. Tactful and strategic. I posted the article because I wanted readers to know that they may be able to learn something, as I did.
