Why are you on Facebook with no face? That’s the 1 million dollar question. Isn’t the name of this social community ‘Facebook?’ A place designed to show your face? Because I have an imaginative as well as a skeptical mind, I’m thinking you don’t have a face because it was damaged somehow. Maybe at birth, like the Elephant Man. Or you are a torn theater star who was injured in the fire like The Phantom of The Opera.
You know, the whole idea behind social networking sites like Facebook is to get to know the person who seeks to befriend you. How can I get to know you if you don’t have a face? What exactly are you hiding? Namely people seeking to promote scams don’t post a picture because those people know they won’t be on the site long and therefore don’t want you to really get to put a face behind the spammy messages they post.
Even social perverts post photos, maybe not of themselves, but they find a picture somewhere to post.
As a rule, I don’t accept friendship from people on Facebook who have no face. The exception to the rule is if I know you in ‘real life.’ Then you get a pass and that only lasts for so long. But, all my friends know that if they don’t have a picture of themselves, then you can bet, as a photographer, I probably have one.
Just put a face to it people! It won’t hurt. Don’t be shy, we all have character flaws. If some folks can put pictures on there with body parts exposed, blunts in hand, money on the table, surely, you too can put a photo on Facebook. Inquiring Facebook users want to know, why are you on Facebook with no Face?

Love it, Teasa
Hopefully the shy folk will come from behind that weak avatar and get real.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi that is a very good point. I have my face on my Facebook friend page, but for my Facebook Fan page I use my avatar/logo.
What I can’t stand is when a person just leaves the default white silhouette in place and doesn’t make an effort to put an image up at all. I don’t approve those friend requests.

@Jimi: Thanks for the encouragement!
@Ms. Freeman: On my Fan Pages I use images relative to the page. Neither do I approve those friends.
Thank you both for commenting and reading.
