DIRTY SLEAZY SEO TRICKS

DIRTY SLEAZY SEO TRICKS

Online, one of the most significant keys to success is getting traffic.  The more visitors you have, the better your sales and profits.  By now you have a niche and you know your keywords, and regularly conduct keyword research to stay on top of what’s popular.  Based on those assumptions here are five quick and easy tips to get website traffic fast!

Tip #1  Make sure you’re actually tagging your keywords.

Do you spend a lot of time optimizing your content and then neglect to tag them on your webpage?  Tags are where search engines look and if there are no tags they’ll pass right by your web pages.  Here’s a quick brief on tags.

There are a number of tag types including,

* Title tags.  Title tags are quite possibly the most important place to situate your keywords.  Here’s what they look like – <title>Primary keyword phrase here. </title>

Your title tag is where you place your primary keyword or keyword phrase.  The sentence will describe your business in less than 90 characters.

* Header Tags.  Header tags are next in order of importance to search engines.  They’re ranked in order of importance and look like this – <h1>Primary and/or Secondary keywords here</h1>

The “1” designates this header as the most important header on the page.

* Meta Tags. Meta tags provide the small descriptive text found underneath the title tag on the search engine results page.  Like title tags these should be kept brief, informative and up to date.

* Alt Tags.  Alt tags are used to provide a text description of a graphic.  Each graphic on your site should have a description and an alt tag.

Tip #2 Add content to your site daily

Content is essential for traffic and a top search engine ranking.  Content is what search engine spiders look for and index – without it there’s nothing to index or rank.  Give visitors and search engines a reason to visit and index your site. Make a commitment to provide daily, optimized content and your traffic will soar.

Tip #3 Procure valuable and relevant incoming links

The more websites which link to your webpages the more valuable search engines perceive you to be, though not all links are created equal.  Search engines give more leverage to links from sites which are popular and credible and from sites which are relevant to your website topic.

There are different types of links.

- A direct link looks like a basic website address, for example, www.yourwebsite.com

- A text link occurs when the webpage address is embedded in the text.  Readers simply click on the link and are redirected to a new website page.

- If the link is to an internal web page, for example an article published on a website, rather than the home page, it is called a “deep link.”

You can encourage linking to your website by:

* Adding content to your site.

* Submitting to article directories.

* Publishing press releases.

* Blogging and participating in social networking forums, chat rooms and social networking sites.

Tip #4 Be Social!

Now more than ever before, internet marketing is about building a community.  Whether you offer a forum on your website or you participate in social networking sites, social networking is a valuable traffic generating tactic.  Facebook and Twitter can be powerful tools for generating links and traffic to your site – create a profile and then post comments, links to your site and ideas which generate conversation.

Get involved – many chat rooms and forums are industry specific, find those which cater to your industry, and begin participating.  Speak to and connect with a highly targeted audience.

Tip #5 Advertise for more exposure and traffic

Advertising, when handled strategically, can be used to promote your content and products or services.  PPC advertising is often the tool of choice because you control the advertising budget on a daily basis and have the tools to test and track your advertising efforts.  Once you’ve honed your PPC ads the return on investment can be phenomenal in terms of traffic and purchases.

For maximum results, create a traffic and SEO strategy.  Outline your plan and your goals and then take the necessary action.  Take advantage of these five traffic and search engine tips to boost your business.

Check Keyword Optimization For Search Engine Efficiency

Google Buzz

CHECK YOUR KEYWORDS

When I first began my blog, I did keyword research (or at least that’s what I thought it was.) I used the Google Adwords Keyword Tool and was so excited from the amount of keywords my initial search returned. Instantly I thought, I will have keyword blog post ideas forever! However, as I would soon find out, my initial keyword optimization research was only the beginning. The answer to correctly doing SEO was just starting.

For this blog, I searched “make money online” and discovered that term was searched 1,000,000 times in Google last month. The keywords column shows the specific keyword that was searched. If you enter “make money online”, the Keywords tool will bring back the 118 keywords containing the word “make money online” that were searched for last month.

The next column is the ‘Advertiser Competition’ column. This column shows the number of advertisers bidding on each keyword relative to all keywords across Google. The shaded bar is a general guide to help you determine how competitive ad placement is for a particular keyword. Generally, you can take that number times 3, in order to estimate the number of times that keyword has been searched within Google for the previous month.

The big mistake I made and a lot of other webmasters make is to assume that by optimizing this keyword, your site will wind up in the top of the Google search pages. That is incorrect, never take the most searched for terms and try to make a niche, blog post, or website around it. Instead, create a niche out of a niche in order to attract more visitors. When you use the highly searched for keywords, you will no doubt get outranked by your competition who are bidding high dollars for those keywords. However, this can actually work in your favor, just a little. If you have a blog, and you write an article based upon the high ranked keywords, your post may ’show’ some of those Adsense ads on your blog, and your limited traffic, might click on one of those ads. Keep in mind, this is all hypothetical, that your visitors ‘might’ click on an ad that ‘might’ show up in your Adsense ads.

Let’s not deal with theory. Let’s look at facts.

It’s always best to start off on the keywords with less competition. Get some traffic with those keywords, and THEN you can focus on the larger keywords.

Take a look at keyword phrases like: “make money online right” which was only searched for 590 times globally last month. Global Monthly Search Volume is the
column which shows the approximate average monthly number of search queries matching each keyword result. This statistic applies to searches performed on Google and the Search Network over a recent 12-month period. It includes traffic in all countries and languages and is specific to your selection from the Match Type drop-down menu. However, this is a good phrase to target as a headline topic. Whenever you write, your headline has to attract people AND the search engines.

A little trick I learned to do is to play with the arrangement of the keyword phrases that are suggested by the Google Keyword Tool. For instance, the title of this blog post is a direct result of playing around with the keyword tool. While writing this post, I discovered that there were only 671,000 websites that had these exact words in its title or somewhere in the body of its content. But, NONE had this exact title. That’s good news for me, once I post this article, I will check to see if my theory holds true that I will gain lots of traffic from people searching for keyword optimization building search engine efficiency.

Also, take a look at your competition, others in your niche that are ranking high in the search engines. Discover what keywords they are using and optimize your posts and your site using variations of those words. Check this by viewing the page source and copying one or two of those keywords into the Google keyword tool. I know I’ve mentioned the Google keyword tool a lot, but there are other free ones out there as well, such as Wordtracker, WebCEO and Trellian. These all have free trial periods, then you may want to upgrade if you like them. Usually I use WebCEO and Google, they work very well for my needs right now as they will you as well.

Can Effective SEO Be Affordable?

Google Buzz
  • Delicious

Untitled

Search engine optimization or SEO is the number one way to drive targeted traffic to your website. Social media marketing is right up there, however, if you don’t know basic SEO, then your social media marketing efforts will go unnoticed.  Maximizing the benefits of a well optimized website will bring  major earnings for you. However, I personally know of people who have spent thousands of dollars just to get their site optimized.  It is truly a skill you must learn in order to drive targeted traffic to your website.

Honestly, you can essentially get information on low cost SEO anywhere online. But only a few will  really show you how to work out an affordable search engine optimization project.  And those few that really inform you are a part of this post.

1. Link exchanges

Everyone loves link exchanges.  But, as I have said before, be careful who you exchange links with.  Irrelevant link exchanges can penalize your website and you won’t get the desired effect, which is to increase your credibility and Page Rank in Google.  Basically, hanging out in the wrong ‘website neighborhood’ can be costly.

Yet, link exchanges are very affordable.  Sometimes the best SEO results are through link exchanges or linking to and from other web sites. Many times other bloggers will find me on Blog Catalog and offer to exchange links with mine. This is the easiest and most effective way of building up an effective army of link exchanges. The benefit and value of relevant link exchanging is well worth the time spent to optimize your website.

2. Write or acquire keyword rich articles

If you love writing (like I do), then you will appreciate the value of this tip.  Writing keyword-rich blog posts is a guaranteed way to make your blog highly searchable by the spiders and bots of the search engines.  The trick is learning how to write keyword rich articles without overdoing it.  Always write for the reader and not the Google bots and spiders.  Remember, people read your information and eventually will share it, however, no one will read or share your information if it reads and sounds like garbage.  Another method you can use if you don’t like writing is to utilize article directories like Ezine Articles or Articles Base Camp.  You are allowed to reprint these articles as long as you keep the author’s resource box intact.  They are usually free and only take moments to post.

3. Catchy Domain Name

Think of your domain name like a radio or TV commercial, something that people will remember when they hear it.  Try to keep it two to three words at max.  Don’t go for more than three.  Anything more than three words might cause people to forget the name and thus confuse you with another site or worse, your competitor!  Something I did in choosing this domain name, was I used the Google Keyword Tool to help me filter out keywords to generate a domain.  Choose a good host like BlueHost who offer domains for life at a price of $10 per year.  Remember keep it short and sweet, and easy to remember.

4. Organize your site navigation

Make it easy to move through your site, think of it like navigating through the high seas.  If you are on a cruise ship, the captain will appreciate smooth waters as you will too.  NO one wants to experience choppy sailing and navigation.  Make it easy to find things.  Place search buttons and boxes on your site so readers can find articles and posts on the topics you write about.  If you can, as an extra bonus, place a SiteMap on your blog.  SiteMaps encourage SEO as well because it makes the Google spiders and bots find you easily.  Take a look at mine here…..SiteMap.

Low cost SEO is always evolving like any other approach in information technology. There are many methods that can very well land you on the top ten rankings of Google or on any other search engines. Some may cost a lot but there are methods that can give you the same results at a low price or you can even do on your own such as those mentioned above.

Keyword Extreme Behavior Targets Buyers

Google Buzz
  • Delicious

Find the Best Keywords for Your Business and Drive More Traffic to Your Website!

Keyword research changes from day to day. Depending on what you read and where you read it will determine what advice you get. Today I’m telling you that if you take your keyword analysis to the next level, to the deepest of drill downs you will find ultra-targeted buyers. Buyers you will not find in surface keyword analysis.

Psychologically speaking buyers have different phases or stages in which they engage during the sales process. Bidding on popular searched for terms will probably generate “middling results” says Blaine Mathieu, at Lyris. Lyris spent well into six figures and did not receive great ROI. However, once Lyris began focusing on keyword behavior targeting, extreme revenues as well as leads started showing up.

Keyword optimization
is now a process requiring well thought out behavioral steps. The successful marketer now needs to understand the buying process, the thoughts that go through the minds of buyers. No need to take a psychology course, however, you will need to understand how your customers are searching. The only psychology you will need to grasp is human nature and how people begin the searches that lead them to resolving the issues they are searching for.

You see, your customers create their own self-qualifying tool. They leave Hansel and Gretel like cookie crumbs, which are keyword behavior clues, giving indication if they are getting ready to buy or if they are just researching or comparison shopping.

Don’t dismiss your searchers if they are just kicking tires and comparison shopping, that’s fine. Because if you have a great landing page that addresses these keyword search behaviors, shoppers will probably bookmark your page. Before you know it, you could be on the short list of their comparison shopping, which is a very good place to be. In order to capture the attention of your shopper in their keyword targeted funnel, you need to have a landing page that addresses each stage of that search keyword campaign.

Keyword behavior is just one part of the search targeting process. Of course you must also do the legwork to get the buyer to your landing page in the first place.

Writing different ads for your buyer’s frame of mind will certainly drive traffic that way. You want to make sure you personalize the ad just enough so that landing page for that keyword responds to the current behavioral phase the buyer is in.

Once you learn what keyword phase your buyers are in, you can dedicate your time to watching sales come in instead of scratching your head trying to make more money.money1

Affiliate success: SEO or PPC?

Google Buzz
  • Delicious

As I look around forums, membership sites and even blogs, I see a lot of talk about Pay Per Click for Affiliates, yet very little information on Search Engine Optimization. What’s the deal? Is SEO no good for Affiliate Marketers these days?

Maybe I’m missing something? No, it’s actually pretty simple… Half of these people are truly obsessed with PPC that they forget (almost completely) about SEO and concentrate a little too much on their PPC efforts. What a waste… Yes, PPC is excellent! I’m a very hardcore fan of PPC but I also realize that SEO is long term when it comes to getting traffic to your site and referring sales.

I continue to get sales for several products that I no longer promote. Why is this? Because of SEO! I have links showing up all around the web that contain my affiliate link and people are STILL purchasing through these links. It’s great! Especially when I no longer spend a penny or a minute of my time or money on making these sales.

So why would others be stuck on PPC? Are they afraid of a little hard work? Maybe… maybe not.

The truth is: PPC will get better instant results. Yes, that’s a fact. But when the cash runs out and the campaigns pause or end – then what? The sales end, too. So what if these people had been working on their SEO efforts and even Article Marketing on the side? They would have made a lot more money in the long run, that’s for sure.

Search Engine Optimization is a major advantage for Affiliate Marketers, and I’m not sure why few speak about it. Maybe they try to keep it a secret? Maybe they view PPC as an easy way to keep the competition in and out, quickly and easily? Could be…

The fact is: SEO is just as important to real Affiliate Marketers as PPC. You can drive just as much traffic to your site with SEO than you could with your PPC campaigns, so make sure you are focusing on both.

While focusing on SEO – be sure to learn and understand Social Media Marketing (SMM) and take advantage of Web 2.0! Social Media sites such as DIGG, Reddit, StumbleUpon and others can bring you massive traffic in short amounts of time. Not to mention – these sites can give you extra results in the SERPS! YouTube? You betcha! YouTube can bring you a lot of traffic in many shapes and forms. Use it and use it wisely!

Do not stop with PPC. Continue tweaking your site until you feel that you’re going to get some great results for your keywords. Link from forum signatures, take advantage of other peoples blogs (please don’t take advantage in a negative way, that’s not what I’m referring to!) when you find an article to be of interest and use your site link (be sure that it’s relevant!) so that you get extra trickles of traffic.

SEO is still a great way to bring in more profits with your Affiliate Marketing campaigns. Use it daily and do NOT forget about it!
