If you’re reading this blog, it means you’re looking for a way to help you make money from home. You’re hoping that you’ll discover some nugget of information that will unlock the door to home business success riches.

Well you can stop right there…

There isn’t a single gold nugget that will take you to home business success. In fact, it takes many nuggets joined together to give you consistent home business success. Here are a couple of fun and very engaging marketing nuggets that make promoting your home business a success.

  1. Twitter — By now you’ve heard of it, probably tried it; yet you can’t understand what all the fuss is about. You wonder, why would anyone care what you’re doing?

Think of Twitter as sending an interesting text message to all your cell phone contacts. We’ve all received and sent joke texts, Bible scripture texts, and funny pictures on our cell phones before.

Twitter is used the same way except now your contact list is global and all these contacts are ‘following’ or befriending you because what you say is interesting.

Think of Twitter as a pool part at Jamie Foxx’ crib and there are lots of cool folks there. And guess what? You’re one of the cool people! So in 140 characters or less (text message size), you get to tell your global connections whats on your mind.

Many times I tweet about breaking news, offbeat weird news, and of course the articles that I Digg. Twitter can be an extension of your marketing and promotion campaign. People like the messages I tweet, and they often Retweet (RT) them as well. Retweet (RT) is the act of your followers resending your tweets to even more followers. Viral marketing at its best.

Warning: Twitter is very addictive!

I installed TweetDeck on my PC and I use the TwitterBerry App on my Blackberry. Both these tools keep me tweeting quickly and efficiently.

TweetDeck is a software I added that easily lets me see which of my followers are most active, along with what are the popular trending topics of the moment. TweetDeck is a powerful tool duplication tool that helps you get more followers and leads.

Remember, social networking is a two way street. Recognize your followers weekly by using #followfriday, or any other method of saying thank you. This creates a conversational tone that will earn you a reputation as being responsive and credible.

In the next post, I’ll share another social media gem: How to mine for gold nuggets using Facebook.

Find the Best Keywords for Your Business and Drive More Traffic to Your Website!

Twitter is quickly becoming the micro-blogging tool of choice by social network users. You can tweet from your laptop, desktop or mobile smartphone. Its a convenient, easy fun method of answering the question, “What are you doing?”

I first got caught up with Twitter about 11 months ago. A friend of mine suggested it to me, and I must admit, I wasn’t that impressed with it at first. It seemed to be a mindless question that couldn’t possibly generate additional conversation.

But, that was before I really began to understand the genesis of the question. Its not just about “what are you doing,” but more what interesting is going on in the world around you and how are you interacting with those things. That’s where conversations are borne and grow.

Twitter is communication with individuals who want to engage with your thoughts or you with their thoughts. Having a lot of followers is perceived as having Twitter Power.

Since Twitter Power is something you want and may not have, here are 8 ways to get more Twitter Power:

  1. Engage in conversations with people. Don’t just offer mindless banter, tweet stuff that makes sense and show a slice of your personality.
  2. Read other twitterers tweets (try saying that 10 times real fast!)– learn from the best, and mimic their behavior and not their content. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel, learn from the successful wheels already in place.
  3. Use an awesome desktop application like TweetDeck. Some say that TweetDeck is the most powerful Twitter applications available. Think of it as Twitter pimped out and on steroids. Click here for a great tutorial on using TweetDeck to its full capacity.
  4. Recently I stumbled upon Mr. Tweet. Mr. Tweet is a fine Twitter tool that recommends followers to you, who you should be following relevant to your profile information and who is following you. Mr. Tweet will generally recommend 237 new followers per week that are relevant to your niche. Check it out here.
  5. Another good tool to use if Mr. Tweet intimidates you, is Twhirl. Twhirl also allows you to post pics using Twitpic as well as you can search retweets within to determine what is resonating with your followers. What is on their minds. This is a free Firefox add-on.
  6. If you are into add-ons, then just install the Firefox TwitterBar add-on and post tweets directily from your address search bar. You can tweet and surf just as you would use the StumbleUpon toolbar. A quick and easy way to post tweets.
  7. I also use Twitpic and post photos from my mobile phone. Suppose I’m out somewhere and I see something absolutely fabulous? I can use Twitpic to post to my phone in a matter of seconds.
  8. Integrate your web life with Twitter. If you intend to make Twitter a prominent piece of your internet marketing agenda, then you should place Twitter follow links on your page. It makes sense, and is a great way to passively gain more Twitter followers.
