How to Attract VC investors?

Topics: , ,

Venture capital investments are among the best ways to get huge funding for startup firms. Even the best business plans and seasoned entrepreneurs need to play their game wisely when attracting venture capital companies. Here are four M’s to attract venture capital for your business.

Momentum

Investors would want to see an early growth—this can be in terms of users, deals or any metrics that will likely increase after the investment. Developing a relationship with your investors is the key so that they can see your growth through time.

Management

This aspect accounts for 70% of an investor’s decision. Entrepreneurs put their biographical information early in the pitch so that investors find themselves leaning forward for the rest of the presentation.

Market size

Whether you are conversing with seed stage investors, series A, B investors or micro VCs, investors need to believe that your firm can turn BIG one day. Most VCs are attracted to investing in huge markets with ambitious management teams. Make sure you don’t talk about quick flips, early exits, tuck in acquisitions and the likes during the meeting.

Money

Money is still the most important aspect for investors. Most investors would want to own a big part of your firm, but may be willing to go smaller with the rest of the other investors. It would be best to be honest and open about how much ownership a certain investor is looking to achieve.
