Special Reports: Build your List and Make Money

Does your business enterprise need a boost? Consider using special reports to add revenue and build a business contact list for future use.   (GET YOUR FREE REPORT BELOW BY CLICKING ON THE IMAGE)

What are special reports?

Special reports are short reports that contain helpful information on a subject. The reports are anywhere from a few to 30 or so pages in length. If you have the know-how, you can write them yourself or hire a writing service to do it for you. There is very little work involved in creating them but they are versatile tools for building an online business.

One popular subject for special reports is how-tos. They direct a reader, step by step, how to do something. If you are knowledgeable with computer software and hardware, that is a perfect niche for special reports on your website. People are always having trouble figuring out their computers and you could help.

Marketing special reports

There are options for marketing your special reports. If you are trying to build a business list of customers, use these special reports as a freebie when any visitor signs up to be a part of your email mailing list. For this type of promotion, use a shorter report like a five page report on how to navigate problems with Windows Vista (if your website has a computer niche).

You can create a five-part course and use the first part as the free promotion. It is your hook. Once they sign up for the mailing list, you can grant them access to the other installments through emails that also advertise your website products. Signing up for a business newsletter subscription can also be the reason to gift a free special report.

Making money

All of your special reports don’t have to go towards list building. Besides your other products or services, you can sell special reports on your website. Many reports sell for between $5 and $20 a piece, but if you offer very valuable information, you can command a higher price. Sell single reports or create various courses to interest your customers.

People love to learn about money-making opportunities. They will pay the money for any information that is a how-to guide to making money on and offline in various ways. How have you made money? Begin there with the subject of your special reports.

As your business grows, create an affiliate program. This gives customers a way to help you make more money and also make some for them. Offer certain special reports as additional compensation for reaching a certain selling level in the affiliate program.

There are a number of ways to use special reports. As you build your library and your lists, alternate the free promotional reports and continue to sell your entire library, creating combination offers such as Buy Two, Get One Free.

While your special reports are building your contact list, they are also making you money. With such a low cost to create them, your profit margin will rise.

Cutting Through Affiliate Program Confusion

So Many Affiliate Programs! Which One Do I Choose? SEC To Investigate Harley-Davidson

Ask questions first before you join an affiliate program. Do a little research about the choices of program that you intend to join into. Get some answers because they will be the deciding point of what you will be achieving later on. Will it cost you anything to join? Most affiliate programs being offered today are absolutely free of charge. So why settle for those that charge you some dollars before joining. When do they issue the commission checks? Every program is different. Some issue their checks once a month, every quarter, etc. Select the one that is suited to your payment time choice. Many affiliate programs are setting a minimum earned commission amount that an affiliate must meet or exceed in order for their checks to be issued. What is the hit per sale ratio? This is the average number of hits to a banner or text link it takes to generate a sale based on all affiliate statistics. This factor is extremely important because this will tell you how much traffic you must generate before you can earn a commission from the sale. How are referrals from an affiliate’s site tracked and for how long do they remain in the system? You need to be confident on the program enough to track those people you refer from your site. This is the only way that you can credit for a sale. The period of time that those people stay in the system is also important. This is because some visitors do not buy initially but may want to return later to make the purchase. Know if you will still get credit for the sale if it is done some months from a certain day.

What are the kinds of affiliate stats available? Your choice of affiliate program should be capable of offering detailed stats. They should be available online anytime you decide to check them out. Constantly checking your individual stats is important to know how many impressions, hits and sales are already generated from your site. Impressions are the number of times the banner or text link was viewed by a visitor of your site. A hit is the one clicking on the banner or text links.

Does the affiliate program also pay for the hits and impressions besides the commissions on sales? It is important that impressions and hits are also paid, as this will add to the earnings you get from the sales commission. This is especially important if the program you are in offers low sales to be able to hit ratio.

Who is the online retailer? Find out whom you are doing business with to know if it is really a solid company. Know the products they are selling and the average amount they are achieving. The more you know about the retailer offering you the affiliate program, the easier it will be for you to know if that program is really for you and your site.

Is the affiliate a one tier or two tier program? A single tier program pays you only for the business you yourself have generated. A two tier program pays you for the business, plus it also pays you a commission on the on the sales generated by any affiliate you sponsor in your program. Some two-tier programs are even paying small fees on each new affiliate you sponsor. More like a recruitment fee.

Lastly, what is the amount of commission paid? 5% – 20% is the commission paid by most programs. .01% – .05% is the amount paid for each hit. If you find a program that also pays for impressions, the amount paid is not much at all. As you can see from the figures, you will now understand why the average sales amount and hit to sale ratio is important.

These are just some of the questions that needed answering first before you enter into an affiliate program. You should be familiar with the many important aspects that your chosen program should have before incorporating them into your website. Try to ask your affiliate program choices these questions. These can help you select the right program for you site from among the many available.

This NeXT Computer used by British scientist S...

When I think of all the ways to make money online, I become overwhelmed with thoughts and ideas. My answer to any newbie would be, well simple. Making money online all depends on what YOU want to do. Yes, it depends on YOU. Its possible there are millions of MMO programs available, most of them however are scams. So, keep that in mind.  Also keep this staggering fact in mind: over 90% people will fail this year after beginning a make money online program.

You don’t have to be in that group if you don’t want to.

You could become an affiliate for CPA networks and promote any of their offers. These offers can range from those cheesy freebies you see like (“register for your free iPad. restrictions may apply.”) Or play online games, or this one below sponsored by HighProfits:

The Income Elite program through High Profits pays $47 a month per sign up. High Profits is free to join, and if you have a blog or website, you can post banners or links to get sales. Income Elite so far, has not received any complaints or negative press, so its safe to join. Its a program that teaches you how to make money online with article writing, internet marketing. Its like a tool box full of resources that can help you make a decent supplemental income.

Now here is the catch, I can not emphasize enough that promoting ANY affiliate program takes time and lots of effort. You can not make money online if you are not willing to sacrifice patience and persistence for a quick buck. That is, don’t expect to make a thousand dollars overnight if you have not put in the work. I’ve been working at monetizing my online games through Mundo Media CPA Network since December, and in the past 3 months I’ve earned, $191.70, $743.80 and $270.00 so far for the month of February. My online games is just one stream of income I am cultivating.

But, earning anything online takes work, remember, patience and persistence wins the race. Nothing can for substitute hard work. Whatever you put into something, is what you will get out of it.

If you’re interested in make money online consulting give me a jingle at 314-774-1156 9am – 5pm CST. We can set up some success planning for you and get you on the right track so you can make money online.

Are You Internet Marketing Roadkill?

ARE YOU INTERNET MARKETING ROADKILL?

How determined are you to make money online?

Does it burn in your soul at night, do you get ideas every waking moment of the day spilling over with excitement about it?

If you don’t then go get a real job, internet marketing and MLM is NOT for the faint of heart.  You’ve got to develop a rock solid attitude about becoming successful.  Everyday you need to think about it and be about it.  There is no middle ground, the real money makers, (just 2% of them) keep going even when they have nothing left in them.  They continue seeking that one person, that one deal that will make the difference between yesterday and today.

Everyone online who enters this business needs to know that the odds are already against you the moment you decide to make money online.  With a 98% failure rate, its the ONLY business that most people fail as soon as they start.  If you are thinking about making money online, whether you use your blog, an affiliate program or a personally created product, think about where you want to end up.  That is, what is it you want to accomplish online.  Some businesses only use the internet to drive business to their offline store.  Others use the internet to purely make money and convert visitors into customers.  Know where you’re going or else you’ll get lost in the crowded barrel of internet marketing failures.

If your goal is to make money from your blog, then decide how to make money from your blog.  Develop a marketing mix of social media, forums and article writing.  Those three methods of productive marketing are the most sticky, the most goal satisfying.  Because they create backlinks (necessary for SEO), social media manifests a viral following, thus driving crazy traffic to your site.  And article writing does both of these, it’s a viral, backlink creating machine that positions you as an authority.

Of course, you can choose to focus on just one of these methods if time does not allow you to do all three.  Marketing online is daunting, exhaustive and can drive you crazy if you don’t have a plan.  Have a plan, and ferociously attack your promotional efforts with passion.  Remember, if you do what you love, then the money will follow.

Using Social Networking Websites to Promote Your Online Website

Google Buzz
  • Delicious

Do you own or operate your own website?  With the rising popularity of the internet, there is a good chance that you do. A large number of internet users run their own personal websites, but others run their websites as a way to make money.  Of course, any website owner wishes to promote their online website, but those who rely on their websites for income are more willing to. Whichever type of website you have, did you know that you could help to promote it with online social networking websites?
If you are wondering how and why you should use social networking websites to promote your online website, you are not alone. A fairly large numbers of internet users aren’t even sure what social networking sites are or how they work.  Online social networking websites are like online communities. They give internet users an easy and fairly safe way to come together.  Many social networking websites are designed to make it easier for you to search for and make contact with other internet users, especially those that you have something in common with.
With a fairly large number of social networking websites, including MySpace, having over a millions users, there is a good chance that you could not only make new friends, but find internet users that would be interested in visiting your online website, especially if that website is your personal website. When joining an online networking community, you should be given your own profile page. On this page you could not only describe yourself, your online website. By mentioning what your personal online webpage is all about and providing a link, you should receive a number of new visitors.
As previously mentioned, social networking websites can benefit all website owners, but especially those who are looking to make a profit with their websites.  This can be done one of two ways, by selling something or by relying on revenue from advertising.  If you have a website that selling products or services, you may find it a little bit easier to use social networking sites to your advantage.  This is because, if you wish, you could do product or service spotlights.
Each day, week, or month, you could showcase one of the products or services that your website sells.  This could either be done right on your profile page or on a blog page, which is provided by most social networking websites.
If you are using your online website to make money with advertising programs, such as affiliate programs or Google Adsense, you may need to approach social networking websites in a different matter. Since you will not necessarily have a particular product or service to focus on, you will need to approach these websites as if they were personal websites.  If your website discusses being a dog owner, it may be a good idea to state your love for dogs in your profile.
After doing so, it would be acceptable and not necessarily considered spam to add a link to your online website.  As with all other types of online websites, social networking websites should help to increase the number of page views your website receives. In most cases, more page views mean more clicks which means money for you.
As you can easily see, there are a number of different ways that you can promote your online website, no matter what type of website you have or what you use it for.  By keeping the above mentioned points in mind, you should be able to see an increase in your page views, in no time at all.

Affiliate Offers Sometimes String You Along

Google Buzz
  • Delicious

Affiliate marketing illustration by User:xDani...
Image via Wikipedia

One thing I do before I enter into an arrangement to become an affiliate for a company is I research the parent company of that affiliate offer.  I have learned that I am not going to put forth lots of effort into an affiliate program that is going to go belly up in six months. Thus bringing me to PeopleString.

It seems everyone is promoting PeopleString.  I was on Facebook recently and one of my friends was trying to sell me a bill of goods on the offer.  I kept telling him that I wasn’t interested in the offer, and that I research everything.  Well he was quite insistent.  So, as he was writing I did a Google Search on PeopleString and its parent company Big String Corporation.  I discovered some pretty interesting information.

In March 2009 an auditor said:

Bigstring Corp. filed its 10-K on March 31, 2009 for the period ending December 31, 2008. In this report its auditor, Wiener, Goodman & Company, PC, gave an unqualified opinion expressing doubt that the company can continue as a going concern.–Businessweek

Also, on December 22, 2009 their stock was at two (2) cents a share and dropping (can you drop lower than two cents?) This company did.  In March of this year they were at one (1) cent a share.   That sent up a huge red flag to me.

I kept thinking, all of these people are getting duped!  There are only four (4) employees that work for the company, an auditor has raised doubt that the company will survive, I’m not sure this is the affiliate program I want to invest my time and energy in.  There are just too many questions and doubts going on in my head about the offer.

Maybe it’s just me.

But, I prefer to promote offers I feel good about.  You see you should choose wisely the affiliate offers you join.  Some of them are worthless, and don’t pay.  There are many companies/affiliate programs littering the affiliate program cemetery, ‘here today, gone tomorrow.’  And when they leave, they leave with your money.  Don’t get suckered, don’t let them string you along.  There are many tools you can use to research a company, and determine if it is worth your time.

Personally, I use CPA networks to work online.  One affiliate offer I promote is Bejeweled 2 and I developed an application on Facebook for it.  This game as of December 22, 2009 has 1,311 monthly users and growing.  That’s great because I get paid each time someone uses the game.  Bejeweled 2 is a fun and addictive game that Facebook promotes for me.  I don’t have to do much promoting of the game because it is in the Facebook game directory.

Bejeweled 2

Bejeweled 2

One valuable piece of advice I can pass onto you is, don’t be hustled by the hustler.  Do what you love, and the money will follow.  If you like playing games online, find some games to become an affiliate for and promote the sleeves off that program!  Put your all into it.  Don’t be fooled by aggressive online salesmen trying to tell YOU what to make money from.  Be an informed consumer and figure out the best course of action for yourself, and don’t let them string you along.
